MENOU, a startup that provides a no-code platform for automating and in-house visual inspections using AI, announced on the 1st June 2026 that it has raised approximately 520 million yen in a Series B funding round. This round saw investments from Nissay Capital, Mercuria Investment, and Japan Venture Capital. With this funding, the total amount raised through equity stands at approximately 890 million yen, while the total fundraising amount, including loans from financial institutions, has reached approximately 1.06 billion yen.
The platform offers one-stop solutions for hardware aspects such as imaging configuration (cameras and lighting), work conveyance and discharge mechanisms, and robotic arms. It focuses on mechanisms that can continue to be operated on-site, including features that utilize generated images in the absence of defect samples.
The service targets various sectors of manufacturing, including automotive parts, medical devices, food, and daily necessities, and according to the company, it has been implemented in over 200 companies.In one case study, inspection time was reportedly reduced by 75%.
The funds raised will be used to further enhance the systems and services, strengthen the provision structure, relocate due to the expansion of the Tokyo and Osaka offices, and establish a showroom for customers. The company states that it will continue to develop and provide inspection systems that are more versatile and can be used continuously, in close alignment with on-site needs.
