UBP Investments, a Japanese asset management company, manages Japanese equity investments with a focus on corporate governance. In evaluating potential investee companies, it is important for the firm to efficiently understand the structure of executive compensation plans and the performance indicators that companies emphasize. 

To support this process, UBP Investments conducted a proof of concept (PoC) for an application designed to organize and classify relevant information contained in corporate disclosures. Techlogix Pakistan participated as the ICT development partner. The collaboration focused on exploring a practical approach to structuring and analyzing publicly available corporate information and validating its potential for future use.  

UBP Investments selected a Pakistani company as its partner based in part on positive experience with previous IT development outsourcing to Pakistan. The company recognized the availability of professionals with knowledge of advanced fields such as AI and machine learning, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in English. It also viewed Pakistani ICT companies as well suited to pilot projects and small-scale agile development, where flexibility and cost efficiency are important considerations.  

Throughout the PoC, the two companies worked through regular communication and consultation. Remote collaboration proceeded without significant communication issues. The project also demonstrated the value of close discussions between the client and development team when working with information that requires contextual understanding.  

This case illustrates how Japanese companies can begin working with Pakistani ICT partners through focused, small-scale validation projects involving advanced technologies. Pakistan’s ICT sector can be a strong partner for projects that require specialized expertise, rapid experimentation, and international collaboration conducted in English.
